Blenheim No. 1 Map Print
Blenheim — the sun-soaked capital of Marlborough, surrounded by New Zealand's largest wine region and famous for producing some of the world's finest Sauvignon Blanc.
Blenheim was originally called "The Beaver" or Beavertown because in the early 1850's the settlement was prone to flooding. Located at the junction of local rivers, the low-lying area regularly flooded and left buildings surrounded by water, making early settlers feel like they were living in a beaver's dam!
